Acne and Hyperpigmentation have always been the 2 constant skin issues that I battle with. I’ve never been very concerned about clearing my hyperpigmentation until recently when I was able to get my acne under control and my skin became clearer.

Normally, I would just leave my dark spots/hyperpigmentation and naturally, they fade on their own and this usually takes about 3-12months.
Since my skin was free of acne (sort of) I decided to focus on clearing my hyperpigmentation and acne scars. I knew it was not going to be easy because from previous research I had done, it really did take a while. Most products require you use them consistently for at least a 60days period before you begin to notice any difference.
Two things I’ve learned since I started caring for my skin are – patience and consistency. So I really was not bothered about waiting that long.
This is said to be a Multifunctional Brightening Formula. It helps to brighten the skin, reduce the look of blemishes while promoting an even skin tone and texture. It contains azelaic acid – found in grains and is produced naturally by yeast that lives on normal skin. Azelaic acid is an antioxidant that has brightening, ant-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory effects.

TO Azelaic Acid has a thick, non-spreadable powdery texture. It also pills on my skin if I apply too much. On first application, it was actually very itchy and I thought my skin didn’t like it. But after reading other reviews on Instagram about it, I noticed the itching was normal. I reduced the application to once every other day so my skin can get used to it while I was using The Inkeylist Tranexamic Acid every night.
On the other hand, The Inkeylist Tranexamic Acid has a very lightweight, easily spreadable, and fast-absorbing gel texture. The Inkeylist recommends that it should be used as the last step in your night routine in place of a moisturiser but I didn’t do this, I use it before my moisturiser.
